You won't want to miss this meeting, Parliamentary Procedures: From a Notion to a Motion by Ann M. Piraino BA/Ed, CPS, MA/ABS, CRC, PMP. Most business meetings are run on a fairly informal basis. But IAAP business meetings use the basics of Parliamentary Procedures as upheld by Roberts’ Rules of Order, Newly Revised to conduct business. Why? Because, as a volunteer not-for-profit organization, all formal actions must be documented, particularly as they affect the rights of the general membership. This presentation will cover the basics of business meeting rules, establishing a quorum, business conduct through affirmation through formal motions and provide some guidance, tips and templates for the most common motions and actions in an IAAP business meeting. One recertification point will be awarded for attending this program.
